At Dreamweavers Records International, we are committed to upholding high artistic standards while helping our community navigate these regulatory shifts. Here is a transparent breakdown of how the major distributors handle AI-generated tracks—and where Dreamweavers stands.

🎧 DistroKid: The Permissive, Rights-Based Approach

DistroKid permits AI-assisted and AI-generated music, provided uploaders comply with clear operational guidelines:  

• 100% Commercial Ownership: You must hold full commercial rights to all generated content (e.g., using a paid, commercial subscription tier like Suno Pro/Premier or Udio).  

• Strict Anti-Impersonation: AI voice-cloning or mimicking identifiable artists/celebrities is strictly prohibited.  

• Mandatory AI Disclosure: When submitting a track where lyrics, instrumentation, or vocals were generated or heavily altered by AI, creators must select the AI disclosure box during submission.  

• Anti-Spam Monitoring: Mass-generated, low-quality, or algorithm-gaming uploads are automatically flagged and rejected.  

🎼 TuneCore: The Ethical Training & Human-First Approach

TuneCore (and its parent company, Believe) enforces a stricter framework centered around training provenance and human authorship:  

• No Fully AI-Generated Songs: Tracks created 100% by AI text-prompt tools without human creative input are completely blocked from distribution.

• Licensed Training Datasets: If generative AI was used at any stage of production, the underlying AI model must rely exclusively on fully licensed, consent-based training datasets.

• Human Authorship Required for Publishing: While AI-assisted audio recordings may pass distribution checks, TuneCore Publishing requires identifiable human songwriters to register works with PROs/CMOs for royalty collection.

• Organic Human Vocals Only: Across all Dreamweavers promoted playlists, YouTube channels, and share-groups, we exclusively accept releases that feature real, organic human vocal performances. Fully AI-generated synthetic vocals or text-to-speech voice clones will not be featured.

• Mandatory License Verification for AI Assistance: If your track utilizes AI-assisted instrumental generation, stem arrangements, or AI-driven mastering/production tools, you must provide verified proof of a valid commercial license (such as proof of a paid commercial subscription tier or direct licensing documentation) upon submission.
